I was born in England and moved with my family at age 9 to Geneva, Switzerland where I was raised, educated and worked. After retirement, I joined my grown children in New York City and subsequently followed my daughter and family to Northampton.
My interest in image-making has been with me since childhood. As an adult, I spent over three decades promoting the DuPont company’s textile fibers in Europe. Among other things, my job involved developing presentations to the industry on color and fabric trends … using 'mood boards' to illustrate color, pattern, texture, touch, drape.
Those years, I now see, were my art school. Now I am free to experiment. Paper - cut, layered, collaged, sometimes painted - has become my medium of choice. I alternate between abstract and figurative images, allowing ideas or emotions to feel their way into visual form.
