More about Jane
Before becoming a painter I was an academic art historian, with a specialty in Byzantine art. Subsequently I started a small publishing company in New York and then became a fine edition printer. Twenty years ago, spurred by the horrific events of September 11 th, I returned to a long deferred interest in making art, and began by taking classes in painting and drawing at The School of Visual Arts as well as The Studio School in New York. I have also had the privilege of studying with Lennart Anderson, Susan Walp, Stuart Shils, and more recently, Joel Janowitz.
